वर्ष 2019 में भारत सरकार के द्वारा जम्मू कश्मीर राज्य पुनर्गठन विधेयक, 2019 को राज्य सभा में प्रस्तुत किया गया | जिसके द्वारा न केवल जम्मू कश्मीर से ART 370 व ART 35A को समाप्त किया गया बल्कि जम्मू कश्मीर का विभाजन करके दो अलग केंद्र शासित प्रदेश भी बना दिया गया | जिनके नाम जम्मू कश्मीर तथा लद्दाख रखे गए 

अधिकारिक तौर पर 31 अक्टूबर 2019 को भारत के केंद्रशासित प्रदेशों की सूची में दो नाम जम्मू व कश्मीर तथा लद्दाख जुड़े, जिससे इनकी संख्या 7 से बढ़कर 9 हो गयी और भारत के कुल राज्यों की संख्या 29 से घटकर 28 हो गई | 

26 जनवरी, 2020 को भारत सरकार के द्वारा पुनः दादरा व नागर हवेली तथा दमन व दीव केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों का आपस में विलय कर दिया गया | जिससे केन्द्रशासित प्रदेशों की संख्या 9 से घटकर 8 हो गई |

इस तरह से भारत में वर्तमान में कुल 28 राज्य हैं जिनका मानचित्र नीचे प्रस्तुत किया गया है

और भारत में कुल 8 केन्द्रशासित प्रदेश हैं 

Hello friends, welcome to all of you at kvguruji.in. In today's article, we are presenting the new map of India. So that your understanding in the map is better because to understand geography it is very important to have knowledge of the map.

In the year 2019, the Jammu and Kashmir State Reorganization Bill, 2019 was introduced in the Rajya Sabha by the Government of India. By which not only ART 370 and ART 35A were abolished from Jammu Kashmir but Jammu Kashmir was divided and made into two separate union territories and were named Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh

Officially on October 31, 2019, two more names were added to the list of Union Territories of India, increasing their number from 7 to 9 and the total number of states in India decreased from 29 to 28.

Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Union Territories of Daman and Diu were merged again by the Government of India on 26 January 2020. Due to which the number of union territories decreased from 9 to 8.

In this way, there are currently 28 states in India, whose map is presented below.

And there are total 8 union territories in India.
